For much of her adult life Angelia has been a sleepwalker. Although she has never done anything dangerous, like leave the house or drive a car, she has been known to get up in the middle of the night and change her clothes. She frequently wakes her husband with tales of mysterious things occurring—like lasers shooting around the room, spiders climbing up the walls, and even murals that move. These vivid, dreamlike experiences became the spark behind the Somnium series.

Angelia is the author of several middle grade and children’s picture books, all of which she has self-published. A lifelong do-it-yourselfer, she approaches publishing the same way she tackles home improvement projects: by diving in and figuring it out. Whether she’s demoing a bathroom, building furniture, or learning the ins and outs of publishing, Angelia is grounded in the belief that trying something new is always a risk worth taking.

In her quieter moments, Angelia enjoys working in her garden—a tradition passed down from her grandmother. She's still working on her green thumb, but with her daughter’s help she was able to recreate Thelma’s legendary sweet pickles using cucumbers they grew together.
