Isla had often wished to be an only child, but that doesn't mean she's OK with her brother falling and getting stuck in a coma. As it turns out, his illness is not just her fault: a creeping force wants to use Ethan's previously unknown power to bring dreams to life. Isla has to learn about her own powers as a sleepwalker really quickly if there is to be any hope of saving her brother and the world from a waking nightmare.
This book had me enchanted right from the start with its complex world building and sinister plot. Isla was a believable character who made mistakes and was forced into decisions but ultimately won her way into my heart. I had to knock this book down one star because the expository style, point of view switches, and constant telling (rather than showing) made it hard to fully immerse myself in the story. However, this little book has a lot of potential, and I expect great things from this author as she develops her craft.
This book was amazing! So many exciting twists and turns to the story. I highly recommend this for both children and adults. You will love reading this very creative book. ♥️
A dream world unlike any other. Isla and Ethan will need to be a team to leave this world of secrets, guilt, and revelations. Creative story to be enjoyed by all!
A dream world called Somnium where memories are recreated... Secrets, guilt and trauma, and a family secret that Isla’s father has worked hard to keep hidden. Isla and her brother are going to have to work hard-together in order to escape the nightmare beyond the darkness. After reading this, I’m anxious to see what part 2 has in store for readers.
